Certified Application Counselor (Assister): Specialty Training

The Virginia Community Health Worker Association has partnered with the Virginia Insurance Marketplace to proactively address the needs of uninsured and underinsured individuals.

A Certified Application Counselor (ACA or Assister) is a dedicated individual, whether a staff member or volunteer, who has received thorough training from a CAC Designated Organization (CDO) to effectively guide consumers in exploring health coverage options through the Virginia Exchange and Virginia’s Medicaid program, including the health insurance navigation, enrollment, and eligibility process.
