Professional Code of Ethics for Community Health Worker
Community Health Workers (CHWs) are frontline public health workers. They support communities in a multitude of ways but essentially through trustworthy relationships. As professionals, CHWs perform activities that involve service delivery and relationship building. Therefore, a code of ethics is essential to protect the public and the CHW profession.
Participants will be able to:
- Define the importance of an ethical code.
- Identify core principles and values within the CHW profession.
- Solve ethical dilemmas based on the scope and boundaries of the CHW profession.
This training meets recertification requirements for Community Health Workers.
