Professional Code of Ethics for Community Health Worker

Community Health Workers (CHWs) are frontline public health workers. They support communities in a multitude of ways but essentially through trustworthy relationships.  As professionals, CHWs perform activities that involve service delivery and relationship building. Therefore, a code of ethics is essential to protect the public and the CHW profession.

Participants will be able to:

  1. Define the importance of an ethical code.
  2. Identify core principles and values within the CHW profession.
  3. Solve ethical dilemmas based on the scope and boundaries of the CHW profession.

This training meets recertification requirements for Community Health Workers.
